We are seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to design, analyze and implement a broad selection of Structural Engineering projects in support of our federal customers. This role requires design knowledge of and experience with concrete and steel vertical construction; additional consideration will be given to candidates with timber and masonry construction experience. As a key member of our Design Engineering team, you will be responsible for the design of structural systems and components for various facility types, ensuring the designs conform to building codes/standards and client-specific requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) who has ample experience leading designs of new buildings, retrofitting and strengthening existing structures. This position is full-time and requires United States Citizenship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently create design documents in accordance with standard engineering techniques, procedures and codes – calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and other project deliverables
  • Participate in site visits to conduct detailed observations of existing concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures for renovation and restoration projects
  • Collaborate closely with the structural engineering team as well as teams from other engineering disciplines, contributing ideas and providing input as needed
  • Complete professional development assignments designed to increase knowledge base and abilities
  • Attend external meetings and promote positive client-partner relationships

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Revit
  • Ability to develop design documents – drawings, calculations and specifications for building structures
  • Experience working in a multi-discipline environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university – emphasis on building structures highly preferred
  • Knowledge of structural software programs – SAP, ETABS, STAAD, and RAM
  • Additional software familiarity – Civil3D, Autocad and others
